NBC Universal Releases Final Trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth, Showcasing Key Elements and Thrilling Dinosaur Action
Jurassic World: Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, follows a rescue team racing to Earth’s most dangerous location—an abandoned Isla Nublar research facility from the original Jurassic Park, now home to the deadliest creatures left behind. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by David Koepp, the original Jurassic Park screenwriter, the film promises a gripping return to the franchise.
Official Synopsis:
Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the planet’s ecosystems have become nearly uninhabitable for dinosaurs. The remaining creatures survive only in isolated equatorial regions where the climate resembles their ancient habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, three colossal apex predators—dominant on land, sea, and air—hold within their DNA the key to a miraculous life-saving drug for humanity.
Academy Award-nominee Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a highly skilled covert operative tasked with leading an elite team on a classified mission to secure the genetic material. However, Zora’s mission collides with a civilian family’s boating expedition, which ends in disaster when they’re attacked by aquatic dinosaurs and stranded on a forbidden island—once a secret Jurassic Park research facility. There, they encounter a land teeming with diverse prehistoric species and uncover a shocking, decades-old conspiracy.
What Does the Final Trailer Reveal?
Highlights include a thrilling river raft sequence inspired by Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park novel. In January, Koepp discussed revisiting an unused scene from the original book that never made it into the 1993 film. With no source material for this sequel, he reread Crichton’s novel for inspiration and adapted a long-shelved moment.
“There’s a sequence in the first book we always wanted to include but couldn’t fit into the original movie,” Koepp revealed. “Now, we finally had the chance.”
The trailer also introduces new dinosaurs, including close-up shots of the D-Rex (Distortus Rex), a terrifying hybrid mutation created for Rebirth. Edwards described it as “if the T. rex was designed by H.R. Giger and then mated with a Star Wars Rancor.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth storms into theaters on July 2nd. Prepare for the next chapter of Jurassic chaos!
