**“Pocket Dragon Adventures”** is a cartoon series that first premiered in 1996. The show tells the story of a group of small Pocket Dragons and their daily adventures living in a forest castle with their master, an old wizard.

Craig Miller is the creator of this children's animated series. He worked at the BBC for six years and also received training from child psychologists. In addition to this, Craig is a science fiction enthusiast and previously served as an assistant on *Star Wars*. He worked at Lucasfilm for three years before becoming an independent consultant for the Jim Henson Company. Later on, Craig felt that Hollywood publicity was becoming increasingly uncreative, so he decided to become a writer or producer.

Before producing the children's animated series *Pocket Dragon Adventures*, Craig had been working on *The Real Ghostbusters*. He and his partner first created a sort of framework “bible” for the show, complete with illustrations, and pitched it to several companies. Although Disney initially showed interest, the follow-up never materialized. Eventually, BKN, a company specializing in children's video content, saw potential in the project. After Craig provided a sample episode, BKN decided to order a 26-episode animated series.

Later, Craig and his partner co-wrote the script for the second episode, but the remaining episodes were completed separately. After collaborating on a dozen episodes, they brought in several additional writers. These writers would pitch their ideas to Craig and his partner, and then write the stories either independently or collaboratively. Once a first draft was completed, it would be submitted to the production company for approval. If accepted, the script would move on to the revision stage.

After *Pocket Dragon Adventures* won an award at the Cannes Television Festival, BKN ordered an additional 78 episodes.
