Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie is set to release! Which of the 11 Naruto movies is your favorite?

Wed Jun 18 2025

After the recent re-release of Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name,” which I particularly enjoyed, I found myself wishing for a chance to see a “Naruto” movie on the big screen again. As luck would have it, my wish is coming true sooner than expected! “Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie” is officially set to premiere on November 9th. Although there have been 11 “Naruto” movies, with the 11th, “Boruto: Naruto the Movie,” even being released in China back in 2016, I’ve never had the opportunity to see Naruto Uzumaki on the big screen. This is definitely an opportunity I can’t miss!

Road to Ninja: A Milestone

“Road to Ninja” was originally released in 2012 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the “Naruto” TV anime. The story concept and character designs for this movie were personally handled by the original author, Masashi Kishimoto. In fact, “Road to Ninja” marks the first time Kishimoto participated in the production of a “Naruto” movie. The previous eight movies didn’t have his direct involvement.

Personally, I feel that the first eight movies are not as strong as the later ones, with perhaps only the 7th movie, “The Lost Tower,” being comparable. So, out of the 11 “Naruto” movies, which one is your favorite? Let’s take a look at each of them.

A Look Back at the Naruto Movies

Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow

The first “Naruto” movie, “Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow,” tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, Kakashi Hatake, and others helping Princess Koyuki Kazahana of the Land of Snow defeat Doto Kazahana and save her kingdom. What I remember most vividly is Koyuki kissing the sleeping Naruto at the end and turning it into an autographed photo.

Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone of Gelel

The second “Naruto” movie. The name itself doesn’t ring much of a bell, but mention the Gelel Stone, and no “Naruto” fan will be unfamiliar with it.

Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom

The third “Naruto” movie is quite entertaining, with various amusing and disobedient animals and a coup in the Land of the Moon, all of which are quite enjoyable.

Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Naruto Dies

“Naruto Dies” is a classic movie, and Shion, the priestess of the Land of Demons, is a popular character among “Naruto” fans, myself included.

Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds

“Bonds” has a very interesting setting that has been adopted by many fan fiction writers. The concepts of Shinno, Amaru, the Sky Ninja, Zero-Tails, the medical forbidden techniques of Flesh Activation and Flesh Regeneration, and the Angkor Fortress are all familiar to “Naruto” fans.

Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Will of Fire

“The Will of Fire” is another successful movie. The villain, Hiruko, and his Chimera Technique have led many “Naruto” fans to consider Hiruko a research genius comparable to Orochimaru.

Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower

“The Lost Tower” is my favorite movie. When Naruto Uzumaki travels through time and meets his father, Minato Namikaze, I was truly overwhelmed with emotion!

Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison

The Hozuki Castle in the Land of Grass, the Box of Paradise, and Ryuzetsu’s Dragon Life Reincarnation technique are all particularly interesting concepts. Anyone who has seen this movie will likely not forget them.

Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie

The “Naruto” movie that will be released next month is “Road to Ninja.” Are you looking forward to seeing Naruto Uzumaki and the headstrong Hinata Hyuga from the Limited Tsukuyomi world on the big screen?

The Last: Naruto the Movie

I believe that any “Naruto” fan who loves “Naruto” would also love “The Last.” When I first saw this movie, the concepts of Toneri Otsutsuki and the Tenseigan immediately caught my attention. The kiss between Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga was also incredibly moving! Also, Hinata in her black wedding dress is just too beautiful! She truly is my waifu!

Boruto: Naruto the Movie

“Boruto: Naruto the Movie” is definitely familiar to “Naruto” fans, as many of the scenes have appeared in the “Boruto” anime. The battle between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha against Momoshiki Otsutsuki is a particularly spectacular fight!
