Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024)

The famous classic video game adaptation film series *Sonic the Hedgehog*, released by Paramount Pictures, is about to welcome its third installment!

The previous films, *Sonic the Hedgehog 1* and *Sonic the Hedgehog 2*, were released in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

Although both films received average reviews — with the first one scoring 6.0 and the second 5.7 on Douban — they performed quite well at the box office.

*Sonic the Hedgehog 1* grossed \$319 million worldwide, and the sequel even surpassed \$400 million.

So, of course, Paramount quickly decided to move forward with a third installment and announced in August 2022 that the film would be released at the end of 2024.

According to the latest news from Screendaily, *Sonic the Hedgehog 3* is about to begin filming soon.

Although the strike organized by the American actors' union is still ongoing, Paramount has nonetheless decided to begin filming in September without any actors.

This is probably because it's an animated film, so filming can proceed for now without the need for actors?
