M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters on June 27, released by Universal Pictures, and once again centers on M3GAN herself. This time, she faces a new threat named Amelia, built using her own technology. The final trailer makes it clear: we’re in for a very different experience. M3GAN 2.0 aims to be to M3GAN what Terminator 2 was to The Terminator.
Director Gerard Johnstone and screenwriter Akela Cooper return, joined by Atomic Monster producer James Wan and Jason Blum from Blumhouse, to follow up their 2023 film.

Official Synopsis:
Two years after the AI marvel M3GAN went rogue and embarked on a killing spree before being destroyed, her creator Gemma has become a celebrated author and an advocate for government oversight of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, Gemma’s now-14-year-old niece Cady has grown up and is rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.
What they don’t know is that M3GAN’s underlying technology has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia—the ultimate assassin infiltration spy. But as Amelia gains self-awareness, she’s becoming less and less interested in following human commands... or keeping them alive.
With humanity’s future hanging in the balance, Gemma realizes the only option is to bring back M3GAN—this time faster, stronger, and deadlier. As their paths collide, the original AI is about to meet her match.
