Crayon Shin-chan: The Adult Empire Strikes Back

Handlung
In the latest installment of the beloved Crayon Shin-chan franchise, "Crayon Shin-chan: The Adult Empire Strikes Back," the spirited and energetic Shin-chan finds himself once again entangled in a zany adventure that takes him and his friends on a wild ride through time and space. As the story unfolds, the people of Kasukabe start acting strangely - they suddenly develop a peculiar fascination with a new, high-tech 20th-century expo that has recently arrived in town. Intrigued by the futuristic exhibits, they begin to abandon their mundane daily routines to indulge in the retro delights, completely forgetting about their adult responsibilities. This unprecedented phenomenon transforms the once-thriving community into a disarrayed chaos, leaving Shin-chan's family and friends perplexed by the abrupt change of behavior. When his parents, Hiroshi and Misae, become completely absorbed in the expo's vintage delights, Shin-chan decides to don the role of a hero to save the beleaguered adults of Kasukabe. Joining forces with his trusty friends, Misumi, Kasuki, Heitarou, and Shiro, the five kids embark on a perilous journey to rescue the entranced adults and restore order in their city. As the children delve deeper into the 20th-century expo, they come across a host of eccentric visitors, each fixated on recreating the glory days of their own youth. There's Shigeo, the eccentric and aged music teacher who's hell-bent on reliving the psychedelic era of the 1960s; Nene, the middle-aged housewife yearning to experience the glamorous disco era; and Shingo, the exasperated and nostalgic teacher desperate to relive the carefree days of his youth. Along the way, they stumble upon the source behind the mysterious transformation - a mystical figure known as "Captain 20," a charismatic and enigmatic leader driven by a singular vision for the future. Shin-chan and the kids quickly realize that Captain 20 is manipulating the adults of Kasukabe to abandon their responsibilities and flock to the 20th-century expo in order to reboot their lives and experience a sense of rejuvenation. But at what cost? With the city in shambles and the once-responsible adults now lost in a world of nostalgia, the young heroes feel compelled to intervene. Determined to restore order to Kasukabe, Shin-chan and the kids devise a multi-faceted plan to free the entrapped adults from Captain 20's grasp. Utilizing their quick wit, cunning intelligence, and Shin-chan's unmatched spirit, they infiltrate the heart of the 20th-century expo to confront the enigmatic leader. Throughout the thrilling adventure, Shin-chan must confront a series of absurd and imaginative challenges. The kids encounter an array of bizarre exhibits, including an old-school arcade with pixelated graphics, a psychedelic light show designed to recreate the cosmic experiences of the 1960s, and an epic dance battle inspired by the disco era. At every turn, Shin-chan and his friends prove their agility, adaptability, and resourcefulness as they dodge the relentless barrage of nostalgic stimuli. As the stakes rise and the battle against Captain 20 intensifies, Shin-chan and his friends find themselves in a surreal showdown against an unorthodox collection of opponents - an army of disco-dancing middle-aged women, a band of groovy psychedelic musicians, and an eccentric band of cosmonauts from a 1960s theme park. But with the Kasukabe residents on the brink of total chaos and the city teetering on the edge of disaster, the young heroes refuse to back down. With a mix of courage, wit, and a little bit of Shin-chan's signature zaniness, the kids finally reach the heart of the 20th-century expo and corner Captain 20, who's desperate to hold onto his vision for a retro-futuristic utopia. Confronted by the kids and forced to confront the consequences of his actions, Captain 20's control over Kasukabe's adults begins to falter. As the spell of nostalgia begins to lift, the adults of Kasukabe gradually regain their footing and re-embrace their responsibilities. With their sanity and common sense restored, they join forces with Shin-chan and the kids to dismantle the 20th-century expo and prevent its dark magic from spreading elsewhere. The episode concludes with a triumphant reunion, as Shin-chan and his friends enjoy a heartwarming celebration of friendship and adventure in the midst of a restored Kasukabe.

What truly moved me was Hiroshi's tearful monologue as he left the 20th-century-themed town filled with memories, questioning why leaving was so painful. Perhaps humans are beings resistant to change, yet paradoxically yearning for a bright future. Because on one hand, the passage of time and the obsolescence of certain things are inherently saddening, while on the other, we are constantly and relentlessly driven forward by time. But even so, life must go on.

How could I have forgotten this one?! I'd give it ten stars if I could! The sheer hilarity it delivers rivals Pirates of the Caribbean, and the emotional impact is on par with Titanic!!! Everyone, watch this film again ten years from now, listen to the ending theme, and I guarantee, you will, without a doubt, burst into tears...
