The Wickeds

Handlung

The Wicks, a 2007 horror film directed by Jim Isaac, begins as a group of seven teenagers, consisting of Jake (William MacDonald), Mark (Steven Lander), Rachel (Christine Donato), Ashley (Jessica Campbell), Emily (Kate Lynch), Matt (James A. Woods), and Chris (David Tompa), embark on an adventurous expedition to explore the notorious Oakwood house, previously used as the set for a low-budget horror film. The group is comprised of students from a high school in the nearby town and has heard tales of the house being the site of a former massacre. Their curiosity is piqued, and they see this as an opportunity to experience the thrill of horror firsthand. Upon their arrival at the abandoned Oakwood house, the teenagers soon discover that the local legend surrounding the house was not entirely fabricated. They start to notice the eerie and foreboding atmosphere that surrounds the mansion, including its crumbling walls, dark corridors, and overgrown grounds. However, the true terror that awaits them does not stem from ghosts or supernatural entities but from something much more tangible. Two bumbling grave robbers, Tom (Steven Gray) and Mike (Ryan Vickers), stumble upon the group's gathering at the Oakwood house. However, their arrival marks the beginning of a descent into chaos and horror. As it transpires, a recent outbreak of a mysterious disease has led to the reanimation of the dead, unleashing an army of undead creatures on the world. Tom and Mike seek refuge with the teenagers, hoping to escape the hordes of the living dead. Initially, the group dismisses the grave robbers' alarming stories as mere fabrications. However, when they begin to hear the distant moaning of the undead and witness the destruction wreaked by the walking dead, it becomes clear that their situation has turned dire. As the night progresses and the house comes under siege by the undead hordes, the once carefree and reckless teenagers are put to the test, facing a fight for survival they never could have imagined. With limited resources, and no apparent means of defense, the group must join forces with Tom and Mike to fend off the relentless horde of undead. The Oakwood house, once a location steeped in macabre history, now transforms into a battleground, with its rooms and corridors serving as a maze to be navigated in a desperate bid to stay alive. The teenagers and the grave robbers embark on a perilous journey to scavenge for resources and fend off the undead, all while trying to piece together the mysteries surrounding the outbreak of the disease. As they explore the house, they start to uncover clues pointing to the source of the outbreak and the dark secrets it holds. With each passing moment, the stakes are raised, and they face unimaginable horrors as they fight to survive against an enemy that will stop at nothing to reclaim their dead. The group soon realizes that their only hope for survival lies in working together and utilizing their unique skills to outsmart the undead. The once confident teenagers are now fighting for their lives, and the true nature of the Oakwood house becomes starkly apparent – its walls bear witness to the terror of the living, a stark contrast to the peaceful memories of those who lived within. As the night wears on and the horde closes in, the group discovers a hidden laboratory deep within the mansion, where they find the source of the outbreak and the key to the apocalypse they now face. In a final showdown, the living face off against the undead in a desperate bid for survival. With no apparent escape and an onslaught of the undead looming overhead, the group must come together and utilize their skills to outwit, outmaneuver, and defeat the hordes, all in a quest to survive the night. Ultimately, the group emerges victorious, but not without scars – both physical and emotional. The Oakwood house, having held its dark secrets for so long, finally unravels them, and the story that unfolds is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable horror. As the survivors walk out of the mansion, forever changed by their experience, they are met with an uncertain future, knowing that their struggle is far from over, and that the true nature of terror lies not in the unknown but in the horrors that humans have created for themselves.
