Trama

It's alright, not particularly outstanding overall. However, when Stitch heartbreakingly pries Lilo's hand off him, and neither her older sister nor brother steps in to save him, the scene of Stitch silently watching them swim back towards the light from the depths of the ocean... that part just shattered me. I cried so much.

I'm not a fan of the altered ending. Why make Dr. Jumba Jookiba, who was practically Stitch's father figure, a villain? Was it a budget cut that axed the volcanic aerial battle? And what happened to the adoption certificate, a crucial plot point? Plot issues aside, this live-action adaptation is decent. The casting, character design, and set construction are all well done. The actress playing Lilo is adorable, her sweet smile effortlessly melting hearts.

Compared to certain overhyped animated films, this is the kind of animation that children should be watching. It's simple, full of childlike wonder, and most importantly, its values are absolutely spot-on – as pure and refreshing as a mountain spring. This is what animation should be! Unsurprisingly, the sophisticated users of Douban seem to have given it low scores. These grown-ups, judging with adult eyes, seem to have forgotten where they started from after seeing countless "superior" works. Some are still clinging to how they *think* they should feel, or even claiming they can’t connect with kids, accusing it of manipulative sentimentality. They’ve been ruined by domestic animation. My elementary school daughter said…

What truly stays with me from this movie is Nani's sheer determination, rocketing through a hundred meters underwater like she's made of steel! That's the kind of sisterly love that hits hard.

What I find truly fascinating about "Lilo & Stitch" is that beyond the adorable and mischievous Stitch, it really highlights female empowerment. The film features a smart, responsible, strong and powerful "heroine" in Nani, Lilo's older sister. Then there's the cool and supportive Grandma, and the seemingly stern but ultimately kind and caring social worker, Cobra Bubbles and David is more of eye candy whose a total himbo. It's refreshing to see the men in these roles – constantly showing off, being interrupted or told what to do, and generally playing the part of the simple, comedic supporting act. It's like, "Oh, so this is the kind of life men have been living all along!" It's just delightful.

A heartwarming and action-packed animated film, "Lilo & Stitch" brings together an unlikely duo from different worlds. Stitch, a mischievous genetic experiment, forms a strong bond with independent little girl Lilo, teaching valuable lessons about family, love, and acceptance. The film's stunning Hawaiian landscapes and catchy soundtrack perfectly complement the humorous and touching story, making it a delightful watch for both children and adults. With its unique blend of adventure, humor, and heart, "Lilo & Stitch" has become a beloved classic.
