L'histoire commence par une accusation injuste, déclenchée par un faux profil en ligne qui se propage comme une traînée de poudre sur les plateformes de médias sociaux. L'accusé est un jeune homme qui se retrouve à la merci d'une foule enragée cherchant à obtenir justice pour un crime qu'il n'a pas commis. Alors que la chasse aux sorcières en ligne prend de l'ampleur, le protagoniste doit évoluer dans ce paysage perfide pour survivre à la nuit. Accablé par le poids de l'opinion publique, notre héros se lance dans une quête désespérée pour laver son nom et exposer la vérité derrière les allégations fabriquées de toutes pièces. Son parcours est semé d'embûches, car il affronte une armée anonyme de cyber-justiciers, qui ne reculeront devant rien pour punir leur ennemi perçu. Tout au long du film, le réalisateur Steve McQueen tisse magistralement des thèmes de justice, de moralité et des aspects les plus sombres de la nature humaine. Le résultat est un thriller captivant qui explore les frontières entre le fait et la fiction à l'ère numérique.

8.5/10. This woman looks every bit the murderer, but she didn't break the law. The justice system, the medical profession, the media – all are culpable. People are easily led by subjective feelings, overlooking the truth of the event. Predominantly blue tones, except when the film shifts to orange-yellow as the protagonist is finally released and the truth is revealed. A shocking and moving film. 02/09/2017
