Danger Immédiat est un film d'action et de suspense américain de 1994 réalisé par Phillip Noyce, avec Harrison Ford dans le rôle de Jack Ryan. Le film est basé sur le roman du même nom de Tom Clancy. Le film reprend là où l'épisode précédent, Jeux de guerre, s'était arrêté. Jack Ryan, analyste à la CIA, vient d'être promu Directeur adjoint du renseignement et s'efforce de concilier sa vie professionnelle et sa vie personnelle. Sa femme, Cathy, est aux prises avec des problèmes de santé, et leur fille, Sally, essaie de s'adapter au nouveau statut de ses parents. Les problèmes de Ryan s'aggravent lorsqu'il est entraîné dans une guerre illégale menée par le gouvernement américain contre un cartel de la drogue colombien. La CIA soutient secrètement un groupe rebelle en Colombie, connu sous le nom de Bataillon Escambray, dans sa lutte contre le cartel de Medellín. Cependant, la situation prend une tournure désastreuse lorsque les rebelles sont trahis et massacrés par le cartel. Le patron de Ryan, James Greer, l'informe que le gouvernement américain est prêt à soutenir l'armée colombienne dans sa guerre contre le cartel, mais seulement si cela peut se faire discrètement et sans contrôle du Congrès. Ryan est chargé de coordonner l'opération, ce qui le met en conflit avec ses supérieurs et la politique interne de la CIA. Alors que Ryan approfondit la situation, il découvre que le cartel est dirigé par un chef impitoyable et rusé nommé Hernandez. Le cartel utilise ses vastes ressources pour financer des activités terroristes dans le monde entier, notamment l'enlèvement de citoyens américains. Ryan apprend également qu'Hernandez a une vendetta personnelle contre lui, car sa famille a été tuée lors d'un incident lié au cartel. La femme de Ryan, Cathy, est impliquée dans le conflit lorsqu'elle est kidnappée par le cartel et retenue contre rançon. Ryan est obligé d'utiliser toutes ses compétences et ressources pour la sauver et faire tomber le cartel. The Jack Ryan trilogy is arguably one of the most inconsistent trilogies ever made. "The Hunt for Red October" came out in 1990, followed by "Patriot Games" in 1992, and "Clear and Present Danger" in 1994. The latter two starred Harrison Ford, while Alec Baldwin played Ryan in the first. Moreover, the real central figure in "The Hunt for Red October" wasn't even Ryan, but rather Sean Connery's character.

It gradually becomes exciting from the intense Colombian ambush in the middle part, with political confrontations, shady deals, and the gradual exposure of the true villain. The ending rescue mission brings it to a climax. Compared to "Patriot Games," this one is much more exciting and action-packed.
