Intrigue
Ricochet est un film d'action américain de 1991 avec Denzel Washington et John Lithgow. Le film raconte l'histoire de Danny Bilson (Denzel Washington), un ancien policier devenu avocat, qui essaie de prendre un nouveau départ dans sa vie. Cependant, son passé le rattrape lorsqu'il est pris pour cible par Eddie Piloski (John Lithgow), un criminel impitoyable qu'il a contribué à faire enfermer des années auparavant. Eddie était autrefois un flic corrompu impliqué dans de nombreux crimes, notamment des meurtres et de la corruption. Danny avait joué un rôle clé dans sa chute et sa condamnation subséquente. Le film démarre avec une série d'événements mystérieux et violents qui semblent liés au passé de Danny en tant que policier. Alors que le nombre de victimes augmente, Danny commence à soupçonner qu'Eddie est derrière les attaques. Cependant, il est initialement sceptique car il pense qu'Eddie est toujours enfermé en prison. Alors que les enjeux augmentent, Danny se retrouve à se battre pour sa vie et celle de son entourage. Le film présente des scènes d'action intenses, des rebondissements suspense et de solides performances de ses acteurs principaux. Denzel Washington apporte son charisme et son intensité habituels au rôle de Danny Bilson, tandis que John Lithgow est effrayant dans le rôle d'Eddie Piloski, calculateur et impitoyable.

A rewatch. This feels like a '90s Batman movie without Batman. Washington's character is similar to Harvey Dent before he becomes Two-Face, and the villain is like the Joker. The performances of both leads and the tense, yet entertaining, story are all commendable. 8/10

This movie screams, "I'm the greatest screenwriter in the universe!" It's about a lunatic killer who escapes from prison after being captured by the police to seek revenge. You'd expect a killing spree after the breakout, which would fit his character, but why doesn't he kill his perfectly fine wife and daughters? Killing his partner and raping a prostitute, how is that revenge? Two stars for the occasionally cool cinematography!
