Alors que le soleil se couche sur les rues poussiéreuses d'une petite ville, Jack (joué par John Cena), un cascadeur autrefois célébré, se retrouve à joindre les deux bouts difficilement. Ses cascades audacieuses emblématiques ont cédé la place à des contrats publicitaires humiliants, et sa jument fidèle, Luna, est devenue plus un fardeau qu'une partenaire. Alors que les recouvreurs de dettes se rapprochent de leur petite ferme, le désespoir de Jack atteint de nouveaux sommets. Un jour fatidique, alors qu'ils essaient de repousser les créanciers implacables, une dispute animée se transforme en une bagarre impromptue entre Jack et les recouvreurs. Le chaos est filmé par un drone de passage, et en peu de temps, les images granuleuses deviennent virales sur les réseaux sociaux. Le monde ne se lasse pas de la bagarre "Cascadeur Déchu contre Recouvreurs de Dettes". Du jour au lendemain, Jack et Luna deviennent une sensation improbable, avec des mèmes et des GIF inondant Internet. Au fur et à mesure que leur notoriété grandit, les opportunités se multiplient également. Soudain, Jack reçoit des offres d'émissions de téléréalité, de talk-shows et même de quelques contrats de parrainage de haut niveau. Alors que la renommée de Jack atteint de nouveaux sommets, il est obligé de faire face aux dures réalités de son nouveau statut de star. Ses relations avec ses proches commencent à s'effriter, et la pression de maintenir sa nouvelle image a également des conséquences néfastes sur Luna. Au milieu du chaos, Jack doit trouver un moyen de concilier son vrai moi avec le personnage qu'il est devenu, tout en tenant ses recouvreurs de dettes à distance. Jack sera-t-il capable de dompter la bête qu'est sa nouvelle renommée, ou celle-ci le consumera-t-elle entièrement ? Luna et lui pourront-ils surmonter ce tourbillon de folie des médias sociaux, ou seront-ils complètement éjectés du wagon ?

Jackie Chan's Native American look instantly brings back memories of "Who Am I?". In the film, we see glimpses of him reading the script for "New Police Story" on set, and references to his most serious injury during the filming of "Armour of God." The montage of flashback action sequences, performed without a stunt double, feels like a heartfelt tribute from Jackie himself. Similar to Andy Lau's song "Seventeen," this movie is a retrospective and homage to Jackie Chan's acting career. "If there are no real falls, what will the audience watch... paying tribute means doing it exactly like before: keeping it real!" Choosing to do this is a lifetime commitment, and their era will never truly be over.

Attended an early screening of Ride On, and they say life imitates art. I was moved to tears several times by the connection between Jackie Chan, his horse, and his daughter. However, knowing how Jackie Chan handled the "Little Dragon Girl" incident in real life, the contrast felt somewhat ironic. Liu Haocun is everywhere; it's quite off-putting! In the end, a salute to all those who have dedicated themselves silently to the film industry.

Undeniably, Jackie Chan's dedication is admirable. However, watching him put on a show of deep father-daughter affection feels incredibly forced and jarring. One can't help but wonder what his real-life estranged daughter, "Little Dragon Girl," might think when seeing this "deeply moving" bond between a father and Liu Haocun on screen. Frankly, it's stomach-churning. The movie attempts to grab attention by piling on various comedians and exploiting "Stuntmen" nostalgia, but the jokes fall flat, and the sentimentality feels contrived and insincere. (The combination of Yang Zi, Jackie Chan, and the Deyun She's Young Master was a red flag for a bad movie. It was my fault for having any expectations!)
