Trama
Nell'era dei social media e della gratificazione istantanea, il senso di comunità e giustizia può essere interpretato male, portando a conseguenze catastrofiche. "Accusato" approfondisce questo tema esplorando le ripercussioni dell'ossessione di una società per la vendetta e il giustizialismo. La storia inizia con una falsa accusa, innescata da un falso profilo online che si diffonde a macchia d'olio attraverso le piattaforme di social media. L'accusato è un giovane che si ritrova in balia di una folla infuriata che cerca di ottenere giustizia per un crimine che non ha commesso. Mentre la caccia alle streghe online acquista slancio, il protagonista deve affrontare questo pericoloso scenario per sopravvivere alla notte. Con il peso dell'opinione pubblica che grava su di lui, il nostro eroe intraprende una disperata ricerca per riabilitare il suo nome e svelare la verità dietro le accuse inventate. Il suo viaggio è pieno di pericoli, mentre si confronta con un anonimo esercito di cyber-giustizieri, che non si fermeranno davanti a nulla per punire il loro nemico percepito. Nel corso del film, il regista Steve McQueen intreccia magistralmente i temi della giustizia, della moralità e degli aspetti più oscuri della natura umana. Il risultato è un thriller avvincente che indaga i confini tra realtà e finzione nell'era digitale.

8.5/10. This woman looks every bit the murderer, but she didn't break the law. The justice system, the medical profession, the media – all are culpable. People are easily led by subjective feelings, overlooking the truth of the event. Predominantly blue tones, except when the film shifts to orange-yellow as the protagonist is finally released and the truth is revealed. A shocking and moving film. 02/09/2017
