Tenacious D: Time Fixers

Trama
JB and KG, the dynamic duo of Tenacious D, were on top of the world after a killer open mic night. The crowd was wowed by their epic performance, singing and playing songs that were so catchy, so raw, and so utterly Tenacious D. As they packed up their gear, they received an unexpected message from none other than Michael Keaton himself. The actor known for his roles in Beetlejuice and Batman, seemed to be in a bit of a hurry, but still managed to sound like his usual eccentric self. "Listen up, guys," Michael Keaton said over the phone, his voice laced with a dash of urgency. "I've got a situation that requires the talents of the greatest band in the world – that's you, Tenacious D. The time-space continuum has been disrupted at the Ford's Theater in 1850, and it's a mess. Lincoln is on stage with no play to perform, and the actors are freaking out. Only you guys can fix it." JB and KG exchanged a baffled look. "Dude, what are you talking about?" JB asked, trying to wrap his head around the situation. "The time-space continuum, guys," Michael Keaton replied matter-of-factly. "It's like a big ol' piece of spaghetti. Someone's gone and tangled it up, and now the fabric of time and space is unraveling. You need to get to the Ford's Theater, fix the timeline, and get Lincoln's play on." Tenacious D looked at each other and shrugged. Why not? They were already a bunch of heroes in their minds. They could handle a little time-traveling adventure. After all, as KG would say, "They're the greatest band in the world." The three of them came up with a plan. Michael Keaton would provide them with a time machine – a fancy new rig they'd dubbed the "Time Fixer." All they had to do was get it to the Ford's Theater by 1850 and sort out the mess. Simple enough. With the Time Fixer parked in the alley behind their van, Tenacious D climbed aboard and prepared for a wild ride. The controls looked ancient – like something out of an H.G. Wells novel – but Michael Keaton promised they worked just fine. A flick of the wrist, a shout of "Time Fixer, activate!" and the duo was hurtling through the ages. They materialized outside the Ford's Theater just as Lincoln was taking the stage. Confusion etched his face as he looked out at an audience of puzzled actors. The clock in the background read 1850, but Tenacious D knew that wasn't quite right. "Dude, this is way off," JB whispered, consulting a map they'd printed off from the internet. "We've got to adjust the chronometer." KG nodded and tugged a series of levers. The Time Fixer let out a whir and hum, its exterior flickering like a strobe light. Suddenly, the world around them snapped into focus. Lincoln's play – Our American Cousin – popped up from a nearby script, and the actors began to set up the stage once more. Tenacious D watched in awe as the chaos gave way to a smooth, well-rehearsed performance. They had done it. The timeline was fixed. As they settled back into the Time Fixer, KG turned to JB with a grin. "Dude, we're time travelers." "You think?" JB replied dryly. "I mean, we knew it was in the cards, but come on." Their next destination didn't need to be a surprise to anyone. Michael Keaton awaited their return, a twinkle in his eye. As they climbed back into the van, driving back to their own time, Tenacious D couldn't help but ponder their new status. Time Fixers, for sure. In the weeks that followed, the duo would embark on a string of time-traveling adventures – visiting Mozart in 19th-century Europe, jamming with Jimi Hendrix at the epicenter of the 1960s psychedelic movement, and, yes, even getting into a few scrapes with a particularly feisty Albert Einstein. The time-space continuum was a big place, and Tenacious D was on a mission to keep it in order – one show at a time.
