Trama
Ecco la trama del film "Wonderland": Nell'afosa estate del 1981, le strade baciate dal sole di Los Angeles furono scosse da un macabro quadruplo omicidio avvenuto a Wonderland Avenue. Il 1° luglio, gli agenti intervenuti sulla scena trovarono quattro corpi senza vita - tre adulti e un bambino - brutalmente massacrati nella casa familiare. Mentre la polizia approfondiva le indagini, scoprì una rete intricata di inganni, manipolazioni e violenza che non avrebbe lasciato nessuno illeso. Al centro del sanguinoso dramma c'era Herbert "Whitey" Bullock (Val Kilmer), un noto protettore con un debole per la crudeltà e una scia di vite spezzate alle spalle. Il suo regno di terrore era stato segnato da brutali pestaggi, giri di prostituzione e una costante fornitura di droga per tenere sotto controllo il suo harem di donne. Le vittime del quadruplo omicidio erano tutte collegate all'operazione di Bullock: John Stoker (Michael Rooker), un protettore sadico che condivideva le tendenze violente di Whitey; Billy Dee Williams (interpretato da se stesso), un amico di Stoker con legami con la malavita; e la famiglia Stoker - padre, madre e giovane figlia - la cui unica colpa era quella di essere rimasti intrappolati nel contorto gioco di Bullock. Mentre le indagini si svolgono, il detective Ted Gillespie (Edward Bunker) si ritrova coinvolto in un dilemma morale. Di fronte alla pura brutalità dei crimini, inizia a mettere in discussione la propria moralità e la vera natura della giustizia. Wow, didn't expect it to be a sci-fi film, never thought they'd tackle this kind of subject matter. 'Black Mirror' probably explored similar issues. If a company like this could exist, it suggests there's some rationale behind it, even though I'm strongly against the concept. The deceased, those in vegetative states—we should interact with them in a natural way, not by creating a virtual person. Even if the virtual person's thoughts originate from the real person, they are fundamentally different individuals. As time passes, different personalities will develop, entirely dependent on the algorithm. My first movie in Seoul, and it's a miss... Kim Tae-yong, after all these years, you deliver a stitched-together patchwork? Yes, the cast looks amazing on the big screen; Tang Wei and Suzy are stunning. But what were you thinking with this plot? The premise was interesting, each storyline could have been a whole drama. Tang Wei's could be about AI awakening; Suzy and Park Bo-gum's about the contrast and conflict between virtual and real boyfriends; and the boy and his grandma about over-immersion. The biggest problem is that the Wonderland world-building is weak from the start, the system's logic is all over the place, so you can't get invested...
