あらすじ
ノストロモ号の乗組員が謎の信号を調査し始めた時、彼らは知らず知らずのうちに恐ろしい恐怖を解き放ってしまう。実は惑星の住人からの警告だった遭難信号は、司令官ダラスによって単なる悪ふざけとして無視される。 乗組員は卵を発見し、さらに奥へと進んでいくが、卵の一つが破られ、致命的な地球外生物が中に潜んでいることに気づいていない。後にゼノモーフとして知られるその獣は、冷酷でほぼ不死身の捕食者であり、犠牲者を排除するためには手段を選ばない。 乗組員が一人、また一人と姿を消し始める中、残された生存者たちは、まるで超自然的な能力を持つ敵に対し、生き残りをかけて戦わざるを得なくなる。機転の利く決意の固い准尉のリプリーに率いられた乗組員は、力を合わせてエイリアン生物の起源の秘密を解き明かし、致命的なゼノモーフの魔の手から逃れる方法を見つけなければならない。 緊張が高まり、犠牲者が増えるにつれ、本当の恐怖は生物そのものではなく、驚くべき速さで適応し、増殖する能力にあることが明らかになる。時間切れが迫り、希望が薄れる中、リプリーと残りの仲間は、彼らの心の奥底にある恐怖に立ち向かい、打ち負かすことがほとんど不可能な敵に対して最後の抵抗を試みなければならない。
