あらすじ
アフリカのサバンナのなだらかな丘に夕日が沈む頃、妻を亡くしたばかりのネイト・サミュエルズ博士は、2人の娘、ノラとメレディスと共に南アフリカのゲーム保護区への旅に出る。この旅行が、家族が癒し、再び絆を深める機会となることを願って。しかし、彼らの静かな休暇は、凶暴で血に飢えたライオンによってすぐに中断され、ライオンは獲物を狙い始める。 ライオンの攻撃がエスカレートするにつれて、ネイト、ノラ、メレディスは容赦のない荒野で生き残るために戦うことになる。かつて平和だった保護区は戦場と化し、3人の家族はお互いのスキルと本能を頼りに生き延びなければならない。危険な地形を乗り越えるうちに、彼らは個人的な葛藤と向き合い、新たな現実の厳しい真実と向き合う。 ライオンの攻撃がより頻繁になり激しさを増すにつれて、緊張感が高まり、3人は限界まで追い込まれる。この混乱の中で、古い傷が再開され、秘密が明らかになり、家族を引き裂く恐れがある。危険が高まるにつれて、ネイトは自分の死と人生の脆さと向き合わなければならず、ノラとメレディスは自分自身の悲しみと成長の厳しい真実を受け入れなければならない。 人間と獣の戦いがクライマックスに達すると、サミュエルズ家は究極の問いに直面する。彼らは集団的なトラウマを克服し、より強くなって立ち上がることができるのか、それとも容赦のないサバンナが彼ら全員を飲み込んでしまうのか？

Two and a half stars. The film employs a significant amount of long takes, following the protagonist closely and immersing the audience in the experience. However, the thin plot and reliance on wilderness survival tropes hinder its overall success. The movie does, to some extent, address contemporary wildlife issues, attempting to raise awareness.

No need to bother. The two kids are way too annoying, and their dad acts like a complete fool. It's one of those movies where the antagonist isn't really that formidable, but human stupidity makes it look incredibly dangerous. Watching it just leaves you with a sense of frustrating anxiety.

The story feels refreshingly old-school, reminiscent of the creature-feature thrillers I used to watch as a kid. That final showdown, though, was brutal! I was practically being torn apart right along with them.
