The movie portrays a poignant youthful romance between a privileged son of high-ranking officials and a farm boy. Once again, we see a "foolish younger sibling" dynamic. Max Riemelt delivers another compassionate performance, portraying a boy with a humanitarian heart who escapes the constraints of war through suicide. Max Riemelt's beauty is at its peak, pure and flawless. Tom Schilling, with his sweet, tender, muscular physique, together they've cemented their status as a beloved national pairing in my mind. The scene of him sinking into the chilling lake is tragically beautiful and breathtaking, shattering my heart. People only care about victory; they are indifferent to everything else.
