A gaggle of uncouth, uneducated people are either pregnant out of wedlock, alcoholics, or repeat offenders, and they should be proud to pass this on to the next generation. The poor, innocent boyfriend is mocked and ostracized for no reason, while the pretentious childhood friend suddenly confesses his love and expects her to immediately adjust her feelings and accept him. All holidays should be spent at Grandma's house because that's just the way it is, and any desire for change is childish and willful on the heroine's part. In the end, she compromises, makes concessions, and thinks she has grown up, but the values presented in this movie, are collapsed.
