The online sentiment is so strange. While *Ne Zha* wasn't *that* good, and *Creation of the Gods II* isn't *that* bad, the latter gets a mere 6.1 on the rating sites. Compared to the first film, the pacing is a bit slower in some parts, but it definitely deserves a higher score than that. Ji Fa's indecisiveness in key plot points is within the bounds of reasonable character and plot logic; it's not a character collapse. Yin Jiao's dharma appearance might be a bit low-budget and jarring, but it doesn't ruin the overall plot. To dismiss an entire film because of one dharma appearance is too narrow-minded. I'm still looking forward to the third installment! I would have given it four stars, but I'm giving it five out of spite because there are too many mindless one-star reviews!

Just saw the first post-credit scene at the premiere. I'm estimating at least an 8.2+ rating. It completely satisfied all my fantasies about ancient mythology. Deng Chanyu is also the most beautiful general I've ever seen. No spoilers, just go for it! You won't regret it, a great start to the year in cinema. Looking forward to the release of Part 3 soon. January 29, 2025: Just checked the ratings and it has unfortunately dropped from 6.5 to 6.3. Everyone's focus might be different, and I can understand Director Wu's approach to character development.
