あらすじ

Alright, alright, alright... Let's talk about bullying for a sec. It's a total buzzkill, man. Like, a serious downer. We need to crush that negativity, bury that crud until it dies. *shifting gears, mimicking Wooderson's character* Alright now.... some things though... some *things* can't be buried. I'm talking about the pursuit of pleasure, pure and simply put. Like... if a chick likes dancing under the moonlight... well, alright alright alright, let's play. You cool with that?

It's basically just a bunch of high school kids driving around aimlessly with no real plot and pointless dialogue, but somehow it perfectly captures that "reckless youth" vibe. I guess maybe youth is allowed to be futile. (Richard Linklater sure knows how to pick 'em – so many of those young, bit-part actors went on to become big names). Watching it back-to-back with "Last Flag Flying" gives you even more to think about. They are both Richard Linklater's works, the former being about the teenage years he often shoots, while the latter is about aging, getting older. From one end of life to the other...

The soundtrack is killer! It's a genuine slice of '70s American youth distilled into a single day – reckless abandon, impulsive decisions, packs of friends, and unbridled freedom. The plot might seem a bit scattered, but the central theme shines through: youth, adolescence, and pure, unadulterated craziness! Makes you wanna dive headfirst into a keg of sudsy beer, drink until the world spins, flip the bird to all those so-called rules, and shout, "Let's go to the rock 'n' roll planet!"
