あらすじ

6/10. Park Chan-wook infuses youthful elements into a narrative that frequently shifts perspectives and indulges in self-fantasy. Eschewing typical youth romance tropes, the film cleverly constructs a neurotic, personal world. The female lead, through a method of sleep-flying, is carried out of the ward by a large beetle, soaring into a rainbow-filled prairie where she reunites with her beloved grandmother. Scenes of her transforming her hand into a machine gun and firing upon doctors are also rife with imagination, ultimately celebrating the goodness of humanity. @2016-08-16 12:24:16

Park Chan-wook's cutest and most girlish film. The opening deep-focus suicide at Foxconn awakens the destructive cyborg girl's desire for life. A stolen heart, a rainbow in the finale, the sun amidst bats... Note: The overhead shot of the great escape is awesome, fluffy socks taking flight, and the vending machine dialogue. It just made me think of Kim Ki-duk – I realized his films are really enjoyable to watch at the time, but after a while, I can't even remember the director...
