She is also captivated by Natalie, played by Anna Chlumsky's co-star from the original film, Anna Colbin however, but more so, Anna Colbin is not a part in this movie, she then takes an interest in a boy named Nick (played by Kelsey Grammer and Jamie Lee Curtis son, but no, that is incorrect too) however, he is not a part of the movie. the correct part of the story is that Vada starts to learn more about her mother with the assistance of Uncle Phil and his family, while also navigating her feelings about love, loss, and identity in the present day. As Vada digs deeper into her mother's past, she uncovers a story full of secrets, misunderstandings, and unexpected surprises. With each new revelation, she gains a deeper understanding of the woman her mother was and the choices she made in her life. Through the course of her research, Vada develops a closer bond with her Uncle Phil, who shares stories and anecdotes about her mother that paint a picture of a person Vada had never imagined before.
