あらすじ

6. 5/10. First viewing, remastered Blu-ray. The third installment in Chevy Chase's "Vacation" quartet. The next one wouldn't be for another 8 years...The original was "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), followed by "European Vacation" (1985), then "Christmas Vacation" (1989), and finally "Vegas Vacation" (1997)... Seen through today's eyes, it's fairly average. A couple of bits are still funny, like the greased saucer sled scene... The characters and their personalities are memorable, but the pacing is undeniably slow. Like many films, while it might have been well-received at the time...

Wow, this one's surprisingly great! Maybe it's because it's lost a lot of those cringe-worthy, male-gaze moments. Plus, it's genuinely hilarious, with a really strong, warm, Christmas family vibe. When Clark gets that pathetic jelly-of-the-month club bonus from his boss who can't even remember his name, the string of insults he hurls had me rolling! And the ridiculous part is, his good-intentioned but clueless cousin legit kidnaps his boss, ties him up with a red ribbon, and drags him to their house! I was dying! Apparently, this cheapskate penny-pincher's so awful that even his own wife and the cops who came to rescue him couldn't help but scold him for the stingy bonuses! The cops rappelling into the house while blasting Christmas carols was the cherry on top. In the end, he finally got what he deserved...
