5.4. Knowing this movie is just reheating old leftovers, as someone who hasn't seriously watched the original series, I just can't stomach it. It's glaringly obvious that these middle-aged actors are delivering lines that belong in a teen drama, squabbling and competing over petty things like teenagers. It's even worse than Wes Craven's complaint about "35-year-olds playing 21-year-old college girls" in horror movies. The only credit Russell Mulcahy has to his name is *Resident Evil: Extinction*. His directing career has mostly been about quick cash grabs, and even by TV standards, there's absolutely no artistry to be found.
