あらすじ

The film seems to sidestep the more compelling conflicts surrounding Ellsberg, who leaked the documents, and The New York Times, which initially published them. Instead, it awkwardly focuses on the internal struggles of The Washington Post's publisher and editor. The film really forces the "reality contradicts itself" meaning.

"The only way to assert the right to publish is to publish." This is a must-see, yet also a terrifying film for every journalist and journalism student. "The people of this country cannot allow the President to become a sole ruler, grasping the nation in his hands. I cannot comprehend how the President equates revealing the truth with treason. It leaves me with the impression that undermining a ruling government or an individual's reputation is considered treason. That's equivalent to declaring, 'I am the state.'"

A tribute to this stirring story of speaking truth to power, and speaking for the people and not the King.

Sigh, I don't really know what to say. When a film is so meticulously crafted from beginning to end, inside and out, almost to a fault, and so perfectly aligned with the current political climate, it ironically becomes uninteresting. It feels more like a "long-planned" speech.
