あらすじ

There are several touching and tear-jerking moments; I can never resist family-related emotional punches like this. The director definitely has a knack for thrillers; several disaster scenes are visually agonizing, clearly showing how incredibly fragile people are physically, while simultaneously highlighting the strength of the human spirit. People help each other, and ultimately, humans strive for good. The plot feels somewhat contrived, but what an incredibly fortunate family.

This movie is just too painful, absolutely devastating. Someone next to me couldn't take it after just ten minutes. Naomi Watts' performance is so brutal, some scenes are absolutely horrific; the director is merciless, showing all the gory details. The storyline is thin, but the acting is incredibly moving. Naomi's suffering is palpable, and Ewan McGregor's crying scenes are heartbreaking. The young lead has a bright future, but I can't recommend this film because it's simply too agonizing to watch.
