あらすじ
複雑でスリリングな冒険の真っ只中、『タイムライン』は観客を中世フランスの危険な場所へと誘い、勇敢な考古学者チームが容赦のない過去に立ち向かわなければならない。物語は、エドワード・ジョンストン教授の指導の下、行方不明になった指導教官を14世紀から救出するために派遣された学生グループから始まる。 古代に到着すると、学生たちは不慣れな環境の中で混乱し、道に迷ってしまう。教授の居場所を突き止めようと奔走するうちに、自分たちが700年前の時代にタイムスリップしたことに気づく。グループのリーダーであるクリス・ヒューズは、過去の自分たちとコミュニケーションを取り、現在に戻る方法を探し始める。 しかし、中世フランスの危険な地形を進むにつれて、チームは数多くの課題や障害に直面する。友人か敵かの境界線が常に曖昧な、戦乱のヨーロッパの冷酷で無慈悲な雰囲気に立ち向かわなければならない。残忍なブラックプリンスとその忠実な騎士団を含む、さまざまな派閥との遭遇は、彼らの苦境をさらに複雑にする。 一方、影の中に謎の人物が現れる。グループの窮状を知っていると思われる、「騎士」としてのみ知られる14世紀の傭兵だ。学生たちの絶望が高まるにつれて、教授は実際にいるべき場所にいるのか、それともより邪悪な力が働いているのか疑問を持ち始める。 緊張が高まり、同盟が結ばれるにつれて、グループは過ぎ去った時代の生存という厳しい現実に立ち向かわなければならない。容赦のない環境や、権力を争うライバル派閥との戦いの中で、彼らの命をかけた戦いはますます激化する。この手に汗握る冒険の中で、『タイムライン』は忠誠心、名誉、そして人間の精神というテーマを見事に織り交ぜ、忘れられない映画体験を作り上げている。

Time travel, a concept as old as storytelling itself, gets a vibrant, stylish update in [*Timeline*]. The film dives headfirst into the what-ifs and potential paradoxes of manipulating time, offering a thrilling ride for sci-fi enthusiasts.

Such a great subject matter, wasted on a popcorn flick. What could have been an epic was instead staged like a theatrical performance... But maybe that's just how things were back then.

Plot holes galore, but the production is meticulous. Five stars for visuals, two for the plot. The idea of sending people back to the late Yuan dynasty to retrieve the old man... aside from the unexplained necessity and feasibility, it's absurd that they dispatched a group of unarmed civilians in ancient costumes, as if on a scenic outing! Unsurprisingly, they quickly managed to get two of their own killed - utter idiocy. The protagonist's fate, remaining in the Yuan dynasty to perish, and the past revealed through the ancient stone coffin left by a previous time traveler, is actually quite touching.
