The music culture gets a thorough makeover with a medley of various hit songs. The four bounty hunters are amusing, especially the gentle jazz one, haha, brilliant (voiced by Mr. Fifty Shades himself!). The plot is childishly silly and the storyline is chaotic, but the theme of "unity in diversity" is decent, complementing the dazzling "rainbow colors" throughout the film.
Adeline
The story is mediocre and not as interesting as the first film. Especially the female lead, besides being quick-witted, is almost worthless. However, the world-building and music are fantastic, especially the depiction of various trolls and music genres: "corny" country music, melancholic blues, yodeling that's just there for the sponsorships, K-pop girl groups battling Latin reggaeton, and so on. Among the six major music genres, rock is the most aggressive, electronic music has a low presence (only as a remix in the grand finale), funk and rap are indeed versatile, and the music hierarchy that eventually leads to harmony are all brilliant settings. But the story is uninteresting, and these elements completely overshadow it.

In a world as fluid yet increasingly divided as ours, understanding diversity is more precious than ever. It's not about being colorblind (I don't see color), because that's denying the unique experiences of others. Rather, by embracing our differences, we can better understand our shared humanity and find ways to connect with one another. The plot itself is pretty standard, and personally, the songs aren't as great as the first movie, but the golden, shining message truly elevates it.

Well, it's one of those sequels that doesn't quite measure up to the original... The technical skills are impressive, though, with those mountains made of blankets and rivers of tulle creating amazing textures. But the story ends with beat music saving the world, and rock music still gets no respect, which feels a little ironic.

It's all talk about creating harmony, but honestly, where's the hard rock? Seriously, hard rock only stands a chance if it wipes out pop music; otherwise, it's just a "queen" in name only, without even a chance to mash up!
