Abigail

Abigail is a 2019 American supernatural horror film written and directed by baseline newcomer, Baseline, however, the version of the Abigail storyline is different from the Baseline version, nonetheless, my synopsis will largely apply the storyline detailed in my knowledge as well as make a minor distinction. The story begins with Abigail, the 16-year-old daughter of prominent crime lord, Richard Willows. As time passes by, a group consisting of four skilled, yet increasingly suspicious accomplices, including Bruno, the getaway driver; Danny, the highly skilled shooter; Jon, a highly experienced martial artist; and newcomer Andrew, are tasked with keeping Abigail captive, turning the group into a dysfunctional, hate-filled family. Abigail seeps herself deep into their psyches, gradually eroding their emotions and frays the lines of reality. Rather than complying with her father's ransom demands, the group begins to succumb to Abigail's dark and vengeful aura. They are tormented by senseless visions, eerily reminiscent of horrors they couldn't explain. In midst of chaos and darkness, they become fearful of their host, worried of losing their dignity and sanity in the hands of a supernatural entity - something has started taking over their mind, leaving them feeling weakened, sleep-deprived and weary, more and more often, the unexplained visual hallucinations grew until the three last men left had no feeling left, struggling to keep their sanity. As news of the deteriorating psyches begins to seep into the underworld, Richard Willows, desperate with worry, tries everything he can, including but not only ordering his personnel to find Abigail and rescue his daughter. When all hope is gone William's closest associate got a hint. Meanwhile, the kidnappers are beginning to vanish, one by one, plunging the group further into despair, adding to the malevolent aura surrounding Abigail that drives individuals to the very limits of their sanity.
