Patient Seven

Plot

Patient Seven is a psychological horror film that delves into the realm of multiple personality disorders, trauma, and the blurred lines between reality and madness. The movie takes the audience on a dark journey as Dr. Marcus, a respected psychiatrist, delves into the world of severe mental illnesses. Each of the six selected patients has a terrifying story to share, weaving a complex narrative that slowly unravels as Dr. Marcus delves deeper into their troubled pasts. The film begins with an intro by Dr. Marcus, as he proudly holds his research book on mental health. With years of experience in treating some of the most troubled minds, Dr. Marcus has compiled a vast knowledge of human psychology. However, he still manages to surprise himself, especially with the new patients arriving at Spring Valley Mental Hospital. To further refine his research for his impending book, he chooses to interview six patients, known for their unique cases of mental instability, with severe and violent pasts. One of the patients is a young teenager, known for setting fires, claiming an inner voice commands him to do so. Next in the row is a man consumed by an obsessive desire to kill his family. The following patient is a man who claims to see his deceased mother constantly and has no recollection of a single event, which seems quite unbelievable. Yet, despite these bizarre cases, Dr. Marcus believes the key to healing and treating his patients lies somewhere within these dark pasts. As Dr. Marcus interviews each patient, he slowly unravels the web of mysteries surrounding their mental instability. One patient believes to have had the power of flight, another is a self-proclaimed serial killer. Each of these cases makes for a fascinating study, but none can compare with the last interviewee. The film's focus shifts dramatically from individual patient studies to Patient Seven, a young, quiet, introvert with no violent past and a serene demeanor. Unbeknownst to Dr. Marcus, Patient Seven is more connected than the other patients at first glance. The film starts to take a dark, thrilling, and unexpected turn, when, following a mysterious accident at the hospital, Patient Seven is left alone with Dr. Marcus. Patient Seven gradually transforms into multiple entities and personalities, slowly beginning to shed light on the intricate web of their pasts. Dr. Marcus finds himself trapped in conversations with the different personas of Patient Seven. As the conversation progresses, Patient Seven's personas reveal shocking and eerie details, hinting at an unspeakable event they all witnessed or were a part of. Throughout the film, the atmosphere thickens as Dr. Marcus struggles to keep his composure and understand the depth of Patient Seven's psyche. In the end, Dr. Marcus finds himself torn apart by the revelation of Patient Seven's dark past. The film masterfully crafts an eerie atmosphere that captures the audience's attention, making them feel they are a part of Dr. Marcus's terrifying experience. The twist ending leaves the audience stunned, wondering about the connection between Patient Seven and the other patients. With the final scene fading to black, the movie leaves behind a sense of uncertainty and raises the question - were the other patients also fragments of Patient Seven's past, brought to life to cope with a traumatic event they witnessed or were a part of? Or did they indeed have separate dark pasts that somehow connect to Patient Seven? The chilling thought continues to linger as the dark and mysterious tale fades from the audience's mind, leaving behind an unforgettable experience. Patient Seven masterfully weaves a web of multiple personalities and dark pasts that leave the audience questioning the true nature of human psychology.
