The Prodigy

Plot
Sarah Blucke, a devoted single mother, is deeply troubled by her eight-year-old son, Miles'. At first glance, Miles appears to be a happy-go-lucky child, full of energy and curiosity, but beneath the surface lies a darker and more sinister personality. Miles' teachers at school have started to notice that he exhibits bizarre behavior, talking about things that a child his age shouldn't know or understand, showing an unnatural interest in the macabre, and even revealing an unsettling obsession with death. Sarah is torn between concern and denial, unsure if she should be worried about her son's development or not. As the strange occurrences multiply, Sarah becomes increasingly desperate for answers. Miles has started to display aggressive outbursts and exhibits unsettling behavior, which leaves her feeling bewildered and scared. The usually bright and cheerful child has begun to change into a menacing and malevolent force. Despite her growing unease, Sarah attempts to brush off her suspicions, hoping that this is just a phase her son is going through. However, events escalate when Miles starts to make disturbing and eerie comments. During dinner one evening, he makes a chilling statement, suggesting that he sees his family members in a different light, almost as if he believes they are his enemies. His mother tries to dismiss these comments as the product of overactive imagination or a possible manifestation of his growing anger towards his stepfather, but as more and more evidence mounts, Sarah starts to feel an overwhelming sense of terror. As she delves deeper into her son's behavior, Sarah discovers that Miles had been acting strangely since his toddler days. His father, Peter Blucke, a renowned astrophysicist, had mysteriously disappeared when Miles was just three years old. With the help of her stepfather, Dennis, she starts digging up her past, searching for clues that might explain the drastic shift in her son's behavior. It becomes increasingly apparent that something supernatural and otherworldly is affecting Miles, but what that could be remains unknown. The couple discovers an unusual condition known as hyperthymesia, where the child remembers events and things from a very young age and also starts to understand concepts much before their age. A child psychologist Dr. Nagle, who is also an expert in child psychology, is brought in to analyze the situation and explain Miles' behavior. Despite the professional's attempts to diagnose the issue, Miles' condition escalates, becoming increasingly violent. It seems the child's awareness of things around him grows with each passing day and he becomes aware of the evil and suffering that surrounds him. Miles' stepfather eventually realizes that the reason behind such dark and disturbing thoughts and the reason is Miles has somehow merged with a different entity known as "The Prodigy" that was born out of chaos and destruction and was an alien being who came to Earth as an infant and somehow was drawn to Miles' innocence. The being inside Miles, The Prodigy, begins to grow and feed off the dark emotions that surround it, and Miles' mother realizes that the only way to save her son is to accept that her child is not just her own, but also an entity that is not of this world.
