Comboio
Enredo

Back in my childhood, I vaguely recall the introduction of this movie. Was it perhaps aimed at exposing the dark side of the American empire?

Watched @movie center 20220731. This movie, <Convoy>, could be interpreted as a redneck far-right film, or conversely, even be seen as leaning to the left. The truck convoy parade - what an erotic spectacle!! Trucks, the very word evokes the working class, laboriously earning the means of reproduction. Simultaneously, the truck represents the most powerful production machine of the industrial revolution. As an extension of the driver's body, the truck, with the roar of its V8 engine, relentlessly produces forward momentum, breaking through roadblocks on the highway, charging towards the National Guard that hinders freedom. On the other hand, the truck's mobility (from point to point, always...)

This movie offers at least two compelling aspects: the chaotic and exhilarating bar brawl, and the gleeful, high-speed convoy rampage. Furthermore, it holds historical significance as the first American film released in China after the Cultural Revolution. Sam Peckinpah's contribution is truly remarkable.

A serious attempt that ends up being hilariously bad.

Convoy is a high-octane action film that capitalizes on the CB radio craze of the 1970s. With its rugged, take-no-prisoners hero, Rubber Duck, and a motley crew of truckers, the movie is a thrilling ride from start to finish. The cat-and-mouse game between the truckers and the villainous Sheriff Wallace adds an extra layer of tension, making Convoy a must-see for fans of gritty, action-packed cinema. With its nostalgic charm and over-the-top stunts, this film is a wild ride that never gets old.

"Convoy" delivers a rollicking ride of CB radio wit and highway defiance, as Trucker Rubber Duck and his band of rebels use their radios to outsmart a no-nonsense sheriff. It's a fun, frothy flick that combines camaraderie with a healthy dose of rebellion against authority—just don't tell the cops!
