Enola Holmes 2 picks up where the first film left off, with Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) now operating as a detective-for-hire in London, 1897. With her incredible skills and razor-sharp mind, she finds herself tackling an intriguing case that would test her mettle as a sleuth. The story begins with Enola strolling through the bustling streets of London, her crimson cloak and curly hair standing out amidst the sea of Victorian-era attire. She receives a cryptic message from a client asking for her assistance in finding her missing sister, Bessie. However, things take an unexpected turn when Enola discovers the intended client is none other than Eudoria Dowler, a member of the esteemed Dowler family. Bessie's disappearance appears to be connected to a mysterious girl named Olive Dowler, who is reportedly threatening the family's reputation. Intrigued by the enigmatic Bessie and the seemingly innocent Olive, Enola decides to take on her first official case, unbeknownst to her long-lost brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill). Enola pays a visit to her brother's residence, where she is warmly greeted by Mycroft Holmes (Sam Claflin), the older and more reliable sibling. Mycroft readily provides Enola with information on the missing Bessie, who it seems, used to be one of Olive's tutors. Revealing heinous crimes and corruption at the highest levels of society seems beyond Enola's initial plans of recovering the missing Bessie and unravelling a misdefined case at first by her client. As Enola's unorthodox knowledge and passion as a detective put the truth public-facing, for a few seconds, her true purpose of recovering the lost girl slips into secondary importance behind greater social and moral targets.
