This film, like Almodóvar's others, subtly echoes his previous works. The protagonist's sister is also named Rosa, though she's the antithesis of the Rosa in *All About My Mother*. The novel the protagonist writes in her dark moments, called *Cold Storage Room* in the film, essentially mirrors the plot of *Volver*. Similarly, the scenes featuring the protagonist's friend working in a hospital are reminiscent of *All About My Mother*. Perhaps no one but Almodóvar has ever refracted love through such a multifaceted prism in a single work. It's war, escape, lies, dance, light and shadow, any "harmless but sudden madness."

What a beautiful confession! "You are also blue, on the day you wanted to escape your life and entered mine." A breathtaking romance characteristic of Almodóvar – NATO peacekeeping forces, parades, a non-political pact of a saccharine writer, intertwined with sisterly rivalry, betrayal by a best friend, and a young man selling his body. All pride must be put aside, just for a warm kiss on New Year's Eve.

"The Flower of My Secret" symbolizes the duality within us. The side we deem profound enough to display may not lead us to the life we desire, while the more concealed aspect might be the key to happiness. Everyone grapples with their own internal conflict, some suffer for it, others find joy in it. While the film's character identities and dialogue are crafted with an undeniable artistic flair, the essence of its narrative isn't particularly profound.
