Real Doll: Sex Mannequin

Handlung
The Real Doll: Sex Mannequin, a South Korean film, begins with the story of Ji-seong, a young man who finds himself idle during the Coronavirus pandemic era. He receives a proposal to start a business selling traditional dolls, but Ji-seong sees this as a way to break free from his stagnant life. He decides to take on the challenge and opens up a small store, hoping that it will bring in customers and become a success. Initially, things seem bleak for Ji-seong. His store, despite being meticulously decorated, receives little to no attention from potential customers. However, his fortunes change when he lends a helping hand to an elderly man on the street. The old man, seemingly pleased with Ji-seong's kindness, bestows his blessing upon him, which ultimately sparks a surge in business for the young shop owner. As customers begin to flood into his store, Ji-seong's hopes of becoming a successful entrepreneur start to materialize. In order to keep up with the growing popularity of his store, Ji-seong turns to selling traditional dolls, including a particularly unique stone doll that he obtained on one of his visits to the countryside. To his surprise, the stone doll begins to exhibit strange behavior, transforming into a person-like figure that seems to come to life in the dead of night. This mysterious change not only intrigues Ji-seong but also draws in more customers to his store. As word of the magical doll spreads, Ji-seong's business continues to boom. However, Ji-seong's success is short-lived as he once again turns to the elderly man who had helped him earlier, seeking to ask for his assistance once more. To Ji-seong's dismay, the old man refuses this request, and as he does, a terrible curse falls upon the young shop owner. Ji-seong's store begins to lose customers, and the stone doll, which had transformed into a human-like figure, refuses to revert back to its original stone state. Instead, it remains stuck, unable to change, as if holding a constant presence, a constant reminder to Ji-seong of his failure. As the business goes bankrupt, Ji-seong is left to pick up the pieces of what was once a thriving enterprise. He is left to ponder the consequences of his actions and the impact of the curse that had been bestowed upon him. The film ends with Ji-seong staring at the stone doll, now frozen in time, a constant reminder of his downfall and failure to heed the warning that he should have taken heed of in the first place. The Real Doll: Sex Mannequin is an intriguing tale of a young entrepreneur's rise and fall, and how the actions he takes have lasting consequences. The film masterfully weaves a supernatural element into the narrative, adding a layer of complexity to the story. Through Ji-seong's journey, the film raises questions about the importance of gratitude and the dangers of taking things for granted. The supernatural twist adds a touch of mystery and intrigue to the narrative, making the story all the more compelling and memorable.
