Starbound

Handlung
Starbound, the 2022 science fiction film directed by Ryan Zaragoza, is a mesmerizing tale of adventure, self-discovery, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship. Set in a far-off galaxy, the story takes our protagonist, Nova, on an extraordinary journey through the cosmos in search of her starbound destination. The film opens on a poignant and somber note as we meet Nova, a young, spirited space traveler with an unquenchable desire to explore the vast expanse of the universe. Having been separated from her loved ones during a cataclysmic event that destroyed their home planet, Nova is now driven by a singular purpose – to find her starbound destination, the fabled planet of Elyria. Nova's quest begins as she embarks on a perilous journey through uncharted space, piloting her trusty spaceship, the Celestial. She soon stumbles upon a peculiar individual, named Asher, who claims to possess knowledge about Nova's destination. Intrigued by Asher's cryptic warnings and tales of ancient lore, Nova decides to take him aboard, thus beginning their unlikely companionship. As they venture deeper into the unknown, Nova and Asher face numerous challenges, from hostile alien encounters to the treacherous ravines of asteroid fields. Through their shared experiences, they reveal their troubled pasts, forging a deep bond between them. Nova, grappling with the loss of her loved ones and the weight of her own destiny, finds solace in Asher's guidance, while Asher uses this opportunity to confront his own demons and rediscover his sense of purpose. The stakes are raised as the duo encounters an enigmatic figure, known only as Erebus, who possesses the means to unlock the secrets of the universe. Nova, driven by her determination to find Elyria, is torn between the prospect of exploiting Erebus's knowledge for her own gain and the moral implications of doing so. Asher, sensing Nova's turmoil, must make a choice that will either seal their bond or drive them apart. As the narrative builds towards its climactic conclusion, Nova and Asher find themselves on a collision course with the elusive Elyria. Having confronted the darkness within themselves, they stand united in their determination to reach their starbound destination. Upon arrival, they must confront the very essence of their existence, facing the harsh realities of their journey and the unfathomable mysteries of the universe. Throughout the film, the visuals and special effects are breathtaking, transporting the viewer to worlds both familiar and unknown. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the majesty of celestial landscapes while skillfully integrating practical and CGI effects. The score, a masterful blend of electronic and orchestral elements, perfectly complements the narrative's ebbs and flows, heightening the emotional impact of key scenes. In a twist, it appears Victor and Patrick are not related to the plot of this science fiction movie; instead, they belong to the movie named "Starbound, The Meldrews and Patrick" which may actually be based off "The Meldrews find a man living in their shed; he turns out to be a drug dealer" and "Victor takes a gardening job, working for Patrick's new boss and dealing with very effective herbicide."
