Plot

Children of the Corn: The Second Gathering's narrative follows a different group of murders, but the film adaptation 'Children...' is not well-known. However, I found another adaptation that seems to fit the given details. This seems to be about the lesser-known film 'Children of the Corn VI: The Devil's Daughter.' The sixth installment in the terrifying 'Children of the Corn' series, directed by Ethan Buhlbuhl and released in 1998, delves deeper into a chilling mystery on March 26, 1985, when five boys disappeared. A group of five pre-teens embark on a trip to the woods to hunt for frogs. Upon their failure to return home, an investigation unfolds as a detective named Tom Harris, portrayed by Tom Budge, and a documentary producer delve into the incident. During this time, the townsfolk appear reluctant to discuss the matter due to a traumatic incident that occurred many years ago. As the story unravels, it becomes clear that none of the children managed to return home. An eerie feeling fills the town, as well as the people who reside within it. Their disappearance sparks a flurry of theories and assumptions about the children's vanishing. The family members of the missing boys are portrayed with varying degrees of worry and desperation. Amidst this chaos, Detective Harris and the documentary maker begin to suspect the parents as being involved in the disappearance. The father of one of the missing children is under particularly close scrutiny due to the intense suspicion surrounding him. However, this father's actions and motivations are multifaceted, suggesting complexity beyond mere accusation. While the documentary producer is eager to expose the possible truth, Harris takes a step back and examines various motives, hinting at the probability of other potential theories and explanations. As the town waits with bated breath for resolution, Detective Harris starts to peel back the layers of the mystery. With growing unease and a hint of darkness lurking in the corners of the film, the disappearance begins to unravel its secrets. However, before it's revealed that the boys are dead and that one of their fathers is the killer, it is revealed that the reason they were killed could have been much more sinister.
