Out of the six films I've seen so far, this is the most batshit crazy, the fastest-paced, and the best directed. And because the director deliberately injected comedic elements, the entertainment value, in my opinion, absolutely crushes the previous five. To enjoy this one, the audience really needs to accept that it's a completely unserious slasher, absurd to the extreme, with perfunctory character development. The director just wants Jason to hurry up and start killing. Normally, this would be a flaw... but this is the first one I've genuinely had fun watching. Because even though the first five films had such a serious tone, they didn't exactly manage to make them particularly tense or terrifying... so I much prefer this one's approach of mindlessly cranking up the entertainment.
