DiCaprio was born to act!

Leonardo was a captivating young talent back then – intelligent, beautiful, rebellious, and innocent. His brilliant performance truly carries this film! He's a dedicated and naturally gifted actor. I mentally prepared myself to watch this painful movie about drug addiction and recovery, but his portrayal was so realistic that I still felt emotionally devastated. It's a brutally honest depiction of youth. Kazuya's son must have a strong tolerance, being able to watch this mature-rated, agonizing film multiple times. Were you even an adult when you watched it?

The OST featuring The Doors is a great touch. And Leo's performance is absolutely shocking and impressive. It's incredible how he tackled such diverse and challenging roles so young, from a mentally challenged individual to a gay character, a drug addict, and even a nobleman – and he nailed every single one. It's truly a shame he hasn't won an Oscar yet.
