あらすじ

Another dull ride as always. It's essentially a bromance road trip set against a larger backdrop, with only the final battle being remotely engaging. The symbiotes with their various superpowers are admittedly pretty cool. It's better than the second one, so I guess there's some semblance of effort. They keep teasing connections to the MCU without ever fully committing. Sony's just too spineless.

OMG, that farewell scene got me! I was in tears watching old, white-haired, chubby Tom walking down the street, reminiscing about his life with Venom. The sharp jawline and smooth neck, the youthful smile and his gorgeous looks back then – "the sexiest man on Earth"! The miraculous encounter, the chaotic yet joyful partnership... I felt like I was looking at myself. Life is just a constant process of losing things. Happiness is fleeting, but disappointment lingers. Everyone/everything is only with you for a part of the journey. It’s so damn heartbreaking, T^T. (The female director is awesome! Such a smooth, confident style, not showing any hesitation at all. Kudos to the female director! 👍)

After setting up Venom's jump into the MCU with a Spider-Man news report on TV in the second film's post-credit scene, followed by Venom's appearance in the post-credits of "Spider-Man: No Way Home," all that buildup amounts to absolutely nothing in "Venom: The Last Dance" – no Spider-Man whatsoever. It feels like a cinematic swindle! Spare me the argument that this is a "Venom" movie, or that Sony never explicitly promised Spider-Man. Why include all those Easter eggs in the first place? If you can't deliver a Venom/Spider-Man team-up, then cut the Spider-Man Easter eggs and avoid the heavy foreshadowing. Creating anticipation only to deliver disappointment and then retort with "..." is just bad storytelling.

A movie that is under two hours and tells a good story deserves immense credit, and this Venom delivers. The soundtrack is a perfect score. The final battle scene is not only exhilarating but also tinged with pathos. Venom himself is more adorable than in the first movie. All sorts of differently colored symbiotes gathering together created a new kind of monster art. And, this is by far the most touching live-action romance film of the year. True love can transcend class, span planets, overcome the limits of time and space, until death do us part.
