あらすじ
また満月が近づき夜が更けるなか、エリック・コールフィールド博士とクリステン・イングラム博士は、12か月前に起きた大惨事を阻止するために時間との戦いを繰り広げる。スーパームーンの光が人間のDNA内の休眠遺伝子を活性化させ、何百万人もの人々を野蛮で血に飢えた生き物、すなわち狼男に変えたのだ。 変身が世界を席巻し、容赦ない猛攻撃で10億人近くの人々が死亡してから1年が経過した。都市は凶暴な生物の容赦ない攻撃によって崩壊し、政府は新たな「獣」を封じ込めようと奮闘した。このサイクルを断ち切るため、科学者たちは狼男の突然変異の背後にある秘密を解き明かすため、危険な探求に乗り出した。 高名な遺伝学者であるエリックは、有能な生物学者であるクリステンと安全な研究施設で再会した。二人は以前、人間のゲノムにある遺伝子が変身の原因であるという理論を立てていたが、治療法や効果を逆転させる実行可能な解決策を見つけるには至っていなかった。 目前に迫ったスーパームーンの再来により、行動するための時間的な猶予が与えられた。エリックとクリステンは自分たちの状況の深刻さを認識し、先を見据えて考えざるを得なかった。狼男たちがスーパームーンの引力によって狂気に陥っていることを知っており、この時期が介入のための最適なチャンスとなることを認識していた。 解決策を見つけようとする決意にもかかわらず、狼男の一団による研究施設への攻撃により計画は頓挫した。差し迫った脅威により、イベントを阻止する可能性が著しく低下したことは明らかだった。周囲に混乱が広がる中、彼らの主要な目標が最優先事項となった。 エリックはクリステンを掴み、二人が安全に避難できる唯一の場所へ向かうための脱出計画を迅速に立てた。その場所は、彼らの小さな町の反対側にあり、家族がいるはずだった。エリックの家族のような人々は、自分たちがスーパームーンに対する免疫を持っていることを知っており、また、探していた解決策がエリックとその家族の遺伝子にあることも知っていた。 今や、荒涼とした都市景観と増加の一途をたどる変身した人間の大群の中を進まなければならない科学者たちは、未知の領域への危険を伴う遠征を試みた。都市では電気が通っておらず、通信も途絶え、地獄のような光景が繰り広げられていた。この挑戦は、家族を救出するために乗り越えなければならない、極度に困難で生命を脅かす可能性のある道のりの始まりに過ぎなかった。 エリックとクリステンは、これから起こる旅に身を引き締め、暗闇に包まれた街路をさらに進んだ。遺棄された車が道路に散乱し、店舗の窓ガラスの破片が星明かりの下で輝き、人間の文明の残骸は塵に帰していくようだった。 どこを見ても、狼男たちが群れをなして徘徊し、狂おしい飢えと人間性とのつながりの喪失に突き動かされていた。血まみれの指、引き裂かれた衣服、そして近づく者の口からは唾液が滴り落ちる中、一行はシェルターにたどり着こうと必死の試みを行った。 エリックは、クリステンの助けと強さなしでは完全に迷子になっていたであろうことに気づき、エリックは自分が不利な状況に立たされていることを感じていた。そして、若い科学者たちは、それぞれの心に宿る恐怖に屈しつつあった。しかし、希望の光は存在し、エリックは古い金のネックレスをそっと取り出し、クリステンの首にかけ、「俺たちは調子がいい」と伝え、二人ともそれにしがみついた。絶望の中にさえ光が差し込んでいることを示していた。 無事に避難場所に到着し、家族を見たエリックは安堵を感じるかと思われたが、そこに治療法の可能性がないという厳しい現実に打ちのめされた。若い科学者は、この光景を目撃した後、ますます絶望感に満たされ、急速に制御不能になる旋風の中に閉じ込められたように感じた。

Like "The Invisible Man," Leigh Whannell continues to explore the contemporary ethical values and progressive ideological implications of Universal's classic monster themes. Werewolves are likened to patriarchy, male chauvinism, male-dominated family and blood relations, and contempt for the status of women. In terms of textual richness alone, it is indeed no less than "The Invisible Man." However, compared to the previous work, the actual execution in all aspects is too casual and superficial, and it even fails to form a clear narrative expression loop. The only thing that seems to be done with care is the leg-sawing scene that pays homage to his famous work "Saw." Overall, very disappointing.

Raimi still innovates this time, with the POV shot through the wolf's eyes during the transformation, creating an immersive experience for both sight and sound ⛔Slight spoiler alert (from initially recognizing people, to not understanding human language, and finally, the transformation culminating in the people and objects in front becoming blurred light sources...). It's a pity the story is still too simple. Reflecting on the start of the story, the blonde mom tells her husband, "I love you so much, I can't do anything without you." This is quite interesting, it's what we women most often say to flatter our male partners. In reality, the mom is capable of everything: fixing cars, hunting, delivering the final blow, setting traps, and resolutely firing a gun to protect her daughter in a critical moment. This seemingly blonde Barbie doll...

What happened to Leigh Whannell...? A serious decline, ending in a major "crying wolf" train wreck. Despite carrying the halo of "The Invisible Man director rebooting a classic," there's absolutely nothing noteworthy here. A family dragging themselves into danger, focusing on a thin story that happens overnight. It tries to poke at the audience's tear ducts with a family melodrama while also trying to scare with the werewolf transformation process, but the result is empty and weak. It aims to be "Werewolf Dad, Love Me One More Time," but the final product is closer to "Beauty Blogger Fails at a Werewolf Makeup Tutorial." Ultra-low budget, rough production quality, and plot logic that crumbles – it's just too contrived.

"The pacing is tight, and the atmosphere is chilling, but the story is just too cliché. It's 202x, and we're still dealing with the 'phoenix man' and toxic family origins? A white-collar woman thinks she's married a stay-at-home, cultured man who enjoys caring for his wife and kids. But a trip to his hometown reveals the horror: his family is a total redneck stereotype! A rundown, self-built rural house, vulgar childhood friends, and a father who is a slovenly abuser, physically assaulting his son and smashing things when he's angry. The 'phoenix man' drops the act back home, revealing his true colors, just like his father – a complete male chauvinist. He sprawls on the bed, expecting his wife to bring him tea, water, medicine, and wait on him hand and foot..."
