3 Idiots

Plot

Three classmates arrive at the prestigious Indian Institute of Engineering, Rancjo, Farhan, and Raju, later known as Farhan and Raju are known as raju along with Rancho, making the three quite unlike everyone else in class. Among their classmates is the feared and aggressive, 'Virus,' the strict, egoized dean of the college. Virus sets his sights on three newly enrolled freshmen, enlisting his men to sabotage their chances of studying under him at the prestigious school. The incoming class, under the lead of the unorthodox and unconventional 3 Idiots include, Rancho, whose alter ego is P.K., a typical boy from rural Rajasthan, a long way from being the smartest, but full with creative energy and a mind that is open to embracing many seemingly absurd and unconventional ideas. He is immediately taken under the canopy of friendship by his friends Farhan and Raju. Raju is a quiet non-academic kind of a person and lives on the proceeds his father earns because Raju isn't quite smart. Farhan is extremely keen on his studies however, thus putting an effect over his relationship amid his co-stipulated idiosyncrasy – Rancho whose constant outlandish jokes throw off Farhan completely. Throughout the college experience, Rancho's outlandish antics bring delight to a lot of college goers as well as others around him. He quickly shakes off the pre-conceived idea that college should only be about studying books. While Virus is completely opposite in character with an emotionless and strict reputation he decides that he wishes to sabotage Rancho, Farhan and Raju's ideas when Virus becomes informed on their unending study plans through some envious individuals; Farhan lands up being threatened of being in a deplorable state in college and his anxious family, is the reason for the tension. In order to make an example out of him, Virus comes out looking very indignant and comes ultimately determined to drive the outlandish three idiots out of college by doing his best to stop them from even studying. He even starts exploiting the weaknesses of the already anxious Raju so that his intelligence would get destroyed. Whatever be Rancho's intentions and very clever strategies and intellect Viruses tries his best to squash the growing thought of having a reputation. Rancho grows even closer to his classmates, he had developed feelings for the gorgeous Pia, daughter of Virus and is a bright student among many other things, his affection for her leads to confusion. As far as they begin to have a deep consideration in his matters, Pia expresses an awareness of understanding Racho's thoughts on everything to give a solution at the end. Their curiosity, takes both to eventually be at crossroads in their seemingly completely pre-panned set course in life.

A film that satirizes social issues can be made so lighthearted, and a comedy can contain so many brilliant and insightful sayings. The plot is indeed too casual, and the exaggeration of the next moment always makes people laugh and cry. Despite feeling helpless, you still happily continue watching. The final scenery is something I am incredibly fond of! ★★★★★

If you chase excellence, success will follow you pants down. How can you live today if you're always worrying about tomorrow? The heart is fragile, so we must learn to soothe it. A chicken wouldn't know what's in store for the egg. Study to improve lives, not to enjoy a luxurious life. Be thankful for life. If a friend fails, you feel bad; if a friend succeeds, you feel even worse. All is well.

[Warm reminder: Please ignore this silly title, or you will miss a great movie.] 1. A bird's nest full of viruses welcomes a free bird. 2. Did anyone ever tell you that a friend is the one who gives you a single coin and teaches you to make your own independent choices? That person is your greatest wealth. :)

One of the best movies I've seen in recent months—it's about being true to yourself, and perhaps that's the ultimate success in life. Stop mocking Indians as "阿三"; they are catching up, whether in economics, technology, or Bollywood movies, which we used to think were only about dancing and singing. Highly praised! 6 out of 5 stars!
