Plot
In the movie 65, a catastrophic event unfolds as a spaceship designated Somaris hurtles through space, carrying a crew of passengers on a perilous journey to a distant destination. However, fate has other plans, and a devastating crash-lands the spaceship on the primordial surface of Earth, a world vastly different from the one the crew had envisioned. Yet, amidst the rubble and destruction, an unlikely duo emerges - two passengers who manage to eschew the chaos and emerge from the wreckage with their lives. Adam Nagata, a high school teacher, and Koa, a young girl from Hawaii, find themselves as the sole survivors from the catastrophic shipwreck. As the reality of their predicament sets in, they quickly realize they are embroiled in a world from a bygone era - a time dominated by prehistoric creatures, where the rule of might makes right and the faintest sound can spark a terrorizing maelstrom of unbridled carnage. Their earliest challenge, however, lies in comprehending and relating to this alien world. A peculiar hybrid species of giant mosquitoes serves as their first encounter, though their fascination in this strange and nightmarish world far trumps their fears. Gradually, Adam gets more entrenched in accepting this realisation of his fate on Earth and grows determined in their perilous quest - reaching an escape vessel designed Somaris with the aim of escaping the impending asteroid's catastrophic impact on Earth, which could very well obliterate the entire planet. A world roams huge ferocious predators including thunderous terrors like the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex and the sharp claw-wielding velociraptors; both deadly and highly mobile vertebrates who loom as Adam and Koa continue in their mission to avoid extinction, their relentless quest also leads them into caves inhabited by some unseen dangers. These nightmarish threats would prove fatal to both the reckless heroes, not through malice but by virtue of their helplessness against hordes of ravenous beasts tearing apart what little they were supposed to gain from finding shelter - their most primal weakness now exposed within the isolation that protects. However, also along the perilous route that leads them closer to discovering their hope of survival lies the realization of their own trust and companionship forming through Adam's ever-increasing involvement with his innocent friend, Koa. Recognizing each other's internal potential to endure the unfolding inferno at hand could pave the way for true courage in any dire situation, a quality they would be needing to confront their fears with each and every step they take. Additionally, even though they were not the first arrivals to the planet, they too become a part of nature - their need to cooperate as well as rely on one another slowly manifesting through relentless trust and partnership. Meanwhile, millions of years lay astride the calendar leading the approaching asteroid, growing larger and more deadly by the passing seconds - carrying death for our Earth. It has the attention of two major adversaries leaving the fate of the planet hanging precariously on the two survivors' desperation. Adam begins to confront the fact that his ultimate answer of when their 'life ends', if it will ever end - could only change if both of them make it out.
