Still prefer the truly "unknown" period... The whole vibe changes after he becomes famous 😭 Timothée does a great job, even his singing voice is so similar! I vaguely remember back in 2020 when I first became a fan of Timmy, he was already reading Bob Dylan's biography! Almost five years later, it's finally here! Giving Timothée five stars 🥰 I especially loved the first half, the quality is great, the music is great, and the NYC vibe of the last century is so captivating! Might watch it again sometime? The second half feels like he's just walking around in sunglasses not really doing much (

Two and a half hours of watching Timmy clench his jaw and imitate Bob Dylan's speech made me feel like I was sitting on pins and needles. Immediately after, I went to look up interviews, and he speaks more normally in real life, but he definitely captured that mumbling, unclear way of talking... What a dull movie. I know nothing about Bob Dylan, and after watching the film, all I've learned is that he was involved with multiple women and was very rebellious in his dedication to his music creation. I still know nothing else. His music isn't to my taste; I fell asleep from beginning to end when I saw "Girl from the North Country" back in the day.

I especially loved Elle Fanning's storyline; she takes Dylan to protests and encourages him to sing his own songs. The look she gives him as he performs "Like a Rolling Stone" at Newport, facing a massive crowd, is both resolute and sorrowful: his music, his talent, and his rebellious spirit will no longer just belong to her. On stage, he's brand new and a complete unknown to her.

It sketches the historical context of his iconic songs but delves into the minutiae of his personal life and family drama. It reminds me of similar biographical films, like those about Napoleon. Perhaps this paparazzi-style approach is trending; it's like watching a scandalous late-night show on the big screen. How ironic that in the 21st century, we create biopics about those who once fearlessly confronted their era, yet these films beat around the bush and lack the courage to authentically recreate the times they lived in.
