Plot

In the city of Shanghai, an endless sea of towering skyscrapers stands as a testament to human ingenuity and progress. But amidst the hustle and bustle, a group of misfits carve out their own path, living on the fringes of society. Jay, a rebellious and adventurous teenager, is not your typical city boy. He spends most of his time exploring the alleys and rooftops of the city, honing his skills as an urban explorer. Jay's world is turned upside down when he stumbles upon an unusual sighting in the middle of the city - a young, furry creature, unlike anything he has ever seen before. The creature, which he later discovers is a Yeti, has been living in secret amongst the skyscrapers and concrete jungles. As fate would have it, Jay soon finds himself alone with the yeti, which he quickly dubs Everest. To Jay's surprise, Everest doesn't seem to be as aggressive as one would imagine a yeti to be. In fact, the creature is quite docile and even seems to be on the verge of tears. As Jay further observes Everest, he realizes that the young yeti has a map etched into its wall in the cave where Jay first found the creature, indicating that the once-homeland of the yeti, Mount Everest, lies far away from their present location. Moved by Everest's seemingly tragic past and driven by a desire to reunite the young yeti with its family, Jay embarks on a perilous journey across the Himalayas. Joined by a group of misfits, each with their unique set of skills - Pey, an American thrill-seeker; Yun, a seasoned adventurer; and Jin, a calm and rational scientist - they set out on a quest to guide Everest back to its birthplace. As they navigate through the unforgiving terrain and breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas, the group faces numerous challenges that put their skillset and friendship to the ultimate test. From scaling treacherous mountains to traversing the dense and mysterious jungle-like forests, the journey to the Mount Everest is fraught with danger. A key factor in their journey is the team's understanding of Everest, now dawning as a gentle giant. Yun provides an understanding of the yeti's emotional makeup and the drive that led the creature from its family in hopes of getting its map after witnessing possible visual cues of the Himalayas in a gift Yun had given his character originally while traveling. Underpinning this adventure, however, lies a deeper purpose and emotional undertone that often leaves the viewers contemplating - the interconnected lives and histories of humans and wild creatures in the age of climate change, ever-changing geographic landscapes, and modern technological gadgets seeping into remote areas previously forgotten by modern human endeavors. Together, Jay and his new friends work tirelessly to guide Everest through the mountains and home to its loved ones. At the same time, they navigate their own personal interests, relationships, and identities. Throughout this journey, the film delves deeper into the complexities of friendships, the power of resilience, and the desire for belonging that transcends borders and species. From battling inclement weather conditions to confrontations with other dangers lurking in the shadows, each obstacle heightens the stakes and brings Jay and his companions closer to their goal. As they inch closer to their destination, the gravity of Everest's loss becomes increasingly clear - only the unconditional love of its family could accept and rehome the very lovable and courageous creature. In a last bid to bring Everest back to its people, the group sets its sights on Mount Everest's mighty base. A bittersweet reunion unfolds amidst the grandeur of the Himalayas as Everest finally finds its way back to its loved ones.
