Plot

Ju-oh, a young adult, has just started a new job and moved into a spacious, yet somewhat isolating, apartment. With his roommate away, and his schedule more hectic than ever, Ju-oh wakes up late on a typical Monday after an all-nighter of gaming and binge-watching his favorite show. As he checks his phone for any missed calls or messages, a sudden outbreak report and subsequent warnings flash across his screen – a new virus is spreading rapidly across the city, turning nearly every one of its inhabitants into violent, zombie-like creatures. Initially dismissive and thinking the chaos will be contained before it reaches his apartment complex, Ju-oh decides to stay indoors and avoid the potential dangers outside. His choice to lock himself in seems, on the surface, like a practical decision that maximizes his safety. However, over the next few days, the virus takes rapid control, with more and more of its once relatively healthy and functioning victims succumbing to a newfound rabid ferocity. As Ju-oh observes the outbreak from his window and follows breaking news coverage on his phone, he loses hope. The containment strategies of the authorities are being met with little success, and panic starts to grip the populace. He is unable to locate his roommate and struggles with feelings of loneliness and isolation. Despite growing concerns, Ju-oh holds onto a faint glimmer of hope – for as many days as the supplies he has and his access to data, power, and water hold up. Before all hope seems lost, Ju-oh establishes a channel of communication with other desperate survivors through social media platforms and gaming networks, finally tapping into the global psyche of panic and desperation gripping the outside world. As more stories come forward about terrified people desperate for any sort of connection, safety, or rescue, Ju-oh finds himself making choices that may ultimately save him – forming alliances, helping other desperate survivors digital network communicate, and seeking new means of navigating the desperate situation outdoors. For example, with his growing knowledge, Joo-h, a former college student, is to discover that the infected change over time after their physical reanimation. Growing slightly more intelligent and erratic, the new-born dead grow stronger and create fresh attacks more skilled as days advance beyond the standard 72 hours where the sick turn first out into open public space. Determined to find ways of reclaiming the lost space he gained for self-preservation by removing most appliances to reduce noise pollution, replenishing supplies from his very own community storage area. Now embarking on life with this zombie apocalypse in sight is something of an exhilarating experience. Ju-oh's efforts are strengthened further as, during day 16, multiple people finally report finding way in survival on the 16th day, despite desperate information transmitted on the neighborhood list. Joo-h is determined to avoid being caught by survivors through new-fangled plans on networking with the surrounding areas without making a presence.
