American Reunion
Plot
It's been over a decade since Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) finally consummated their feelings for each other at their high school prom, an event that the friends had all been anticipating eagerly. The years have passed by rapidly, and life has taken a different turn for each of them. However, when they receive invitations for their high school reunion, the group decides that it's the perfect opportunity to get back together and reminisce about the good old days. They also realize that a long-overdue weekend in their hometown, East Great Falls, could bring them even closer as they unfold the newer chapters of their lives. The anticipation for their reunion grows, with Jim, Jim's best friend Oz (Chris Klein), and his wife Nadia (Beatrice Rosen) all confirming their attendance. On the other hand, hot rod driver Stifler (Seann William Scott) has faced numerous setbacks, struggling to establish a family of his own. He has recently become a part-time mechanic, rather than having his dream career as a professional auto racing driver that he had all along. Stifler, with his newly-behaved personality, meets his beautiful match in Cassidy (Diora Baird). The characters in the group experience a re-echoing moment of their past as a friend convinces each one to take a drink by finishing the leftover "moon pie" from the past. Both Jim and his wife continue taking vows to avoid the infamous blue balls that led them to secretly try their sex-lives and reinitiate romance between them when they returned. This time they learn to look into other areas where their sex lives go wrong. The trip back to their hometown brings back numerous memories, much of which takes the group to the high school. They all join in a party hosted by their senior year prom king, Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), who initially becomes reluctant to join them. However, joining forces, the characters in their party group show him a grand celebration of friendship and camaraderie from a decade long past. Throughout the reunion weekend, Stifler tries to seduce Cassidy's 19-year-old daughter Jess (Jennifer Coolidge plays her mother) by initially taking the inappropriate role of pretending to be her and then as a casual manner flirtations among others, yet resulting in nothing but bad implications and a rather devastating emotional showdown among the friends. They are so desperate in helping that it would just trigger a serious romantic breakthrough for Stifler, but another one of his numerous sex related encounters for this friend fails. As characters take a nostalgic stroll through their familiar surroundings, they encounter many reminiscing images and reminiscence of their wild days, while dealing with their new day-to-day struggles resulting from adulthood. It holds intense humor amidst reflecting on that cherished time that friendship never fades away. Throughout the visit, they dive deep into reflections on friendships forged so long ago, dealing with life's curveballs, and reliving past escapades. By their final goodbye, the group of friends can see that much of who they were 10 years ago continues to dominate and power their personality defining traits as determined, supportive, and bonded lifelong friends and companions. As they separate, each leave behind joyous wishes and memories of that one magical week. Their closure as bonded friends shines like another significant recollection.
