Plot
In the mist-shrouded shores of ancient Britain, an enigmatic tide brings forth a collection of disparate, god-like beings from realms unknown. These powerful entities, imbued with divine essence and bound to forgotten mythologies, wash up on the sandy beaches like driftwood, worn by the relentless pounding of the sea. Their bodies, formed from a mixture of human flesh and the primal energies of the divine, bear the scars of unremembered battles and ancient conflicts. As they struggle to regain their footing in this strange, new world, they become aware of their surroundings and the presence of Albion – a monstrous, sleeping giant, a symbol of the land itself, entombed beneath the earth. The refugee gods, bearing the burdens of a forgotten past, feel an unshakeable connection to this sleeping giant and the sacred Grail, a vessel of great power and spiritual significance, lost for centuries. Their quest begins with an understanding that Albion's slumber is a direct result of England's soul succumbing to darkness and hate. A once-vibrant land now teeters on the brink of collapse, as the fabric of its society unravels. The gods, tasked with saving their new home, must navigate the complexities of human history, confronting the echoes of ancient rivalries, tribal wars, and forgotten lore. Gwyn, a rugged and battle-hardened warrior, emerges from the waves first. His body, a fusion of mortal strength and divine power, is marked by scars that echo the epic battles of old. As Gwyn explores the unfamiliar landscape, he encounters other members of his refugee kin: the enigmatic Eira, an ethereal warrior-maiden with a will of iron and a heart as fragile as a feather; Cern, a hulking giant, forged in the heart of the earth and blessed with the power to heal; and Mab, the trickster, a cunning and mischievous god, capable of weaving illusions and reality-bending deceptions. Together, they embark on a perilous journey to rouse Albion from its slumber and retrieve the Grail. Their odyssey is fraught with challenges: navigating the labyrinthine paths of myth and history, confronting malevolent forces that seek to claim the Grail for their own, and confronting the darkness within themselves. Along the way, they meet a handful of human allies: a young, fierce warrior-priestess named Aine, who understands the significance of the Grail and the importance of their quest; a cunning thief named Eamon, who provides invaluable insight into the workings of human politics and the machinations of those who would seek to claim the Grail for their own; and an enigmatic, blind seeress named Morwen, who possesses a deep understanding of the mystical forces that shape the world. As the gods and mortals journey deeper into the heart of England, they encounter the remnants of ancient civilizations, the echoes of great battles, and the whispers of forgotten secrets. The air thickens with an otherworldly energy, as the gravitational pull of the Grail draws them closer. Their quest is not without its costs, however. With each step, the boundaries between their divine and mortal selves begin to blur, threatening to unravel the very fabric of their existence. They must confront the darkness within themselves, lest it consume them utterly and render their quest futile. In the end, it is Gwyn who must make the ultimate choice: to wield the power of the Grail, potentially saving England from the brink of collapse, but risking the very soul of the land and the essence of his own being. As Albion stirs, its massive form beginning to rise from the earth, Gwyn stands poised, Grail in hand, poised to unleash its power. In that moment, the fate of England hangs in the balance – will the power of the Grail awaken a new era of peace and prosperity, or will it unleash a cataclysmic force that will consume everything in its path? The gods, refugees in a world that is not their own, stand as the guardians of this precarious balance, their very existence a testament to the power of myth and legend to shape the world around them.
