Armour of God

Plot
In the 1986 action-adventure film Armour of God, Jackie Chan stars as Asian Hawk, an adventurous antique collector with a taste for the exotic and a penchant for danger. Hawk's latest mission takes him to the deserts of Africa, where he discovers a mysterious and ancient-looking sword half-buried in the sand. Unbeknownst to him, this sword is one of the pieces of the legendary Armour of God, a mythical outfit that dates back to the Crusades and is said to hold mystical powers. Hawk's newfound acquisition quickly attracts the attention of a group of ruthless Satan-worshipping monks from the Shao Lin monastery, who are obsessed with acquiring the entire Armour of God. Led by a sinister and enigmatic leader named Donnie Yen's 'Dragon Moon' character, but not actually 'Dragon Moon' but instead 'Lam', the monks will stop at nothing to claim the sword from Hawk and add it to their collection. However, Hawk is not one to give up easily. Before the monks can get their hands on him, he finds himself in a high-speed car chase through the desert, using all of his wits and agility to evade their clutches. Despite the initial intensity of the scene, Hawk manages to outsmart the monks and escape, but not without sustaining some serious injuries. As Hawk recuperates from his ordeal, he receives a mysterious visit from an old flame named Lorelei, played by Rosalind Chao. The two have a complicated past, but they still share a strong bond and Lorelei is still drawn to Hawk's daring and adventurous spirit. However, Hawk is unaware of the danger that Lorelei is about to face as the Shao Lin monks kidnap her, intending to use her as leverage to get the sword and the rest of the Armour of God from him. The monks demand that Hawk bring the other pieces of the Armour to them within 24 hours, or else they will harm Lorelei. Hawk, not wanting to lose the only woman he's ever cared about, sets out on a perilous journey to gather the remaining pieces of the Armour. Along the way, he discovers that they are scattered across different locations, hidden away by other collectors and treasure hunters who had managed to get their hands on them before him. As Hawk navigates this complex web of treasure hunters and thieves, he encounters a range of colorful and eccentric characters, each with their own motivations and agendas. There's a beautiful and seductive thief named Lily, played by Maggie Cheung, who joins forces with Hawk to help him track down the remaining pieces of the Armour. Then there's a ruthless and cunning collector named John Lone, who will stop at nothing to acquire the Armour for himself. Throughout the film, Hawk's skills as a thief and a fighter are put to the test as he navigates treacherous tombs, dodges deadly traps, and battles against the Shao Lin monks who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Along the way, he also discovers that the Armour of God holds a dark and sinister secret, one that has been hidden away for centuries and is finally being revealed to him. In the thrilling climax of the film, Hawk confronts the leader of the Shao Lin monks, who it turns out is a man obsessed with the dark and mystical powers of the Armour. Hawk must use all of his skills and cunning to outwit the monk and rescue Lorelei, while also uncovering the secrets of the Armour and the true meaning behind its existence. In the end, Hawk emerges victorious, having saved Lorelei and foiled the plans of the Shao Lin monks. However, the experience has left him shaken, and he begins to realize that there are some treasures that are best left in the past. The movie ends with Hawk walking away from the adventure, reflecting on the lessons he has learned and the dangers that lie ahead.
